BAR IS OPEN, Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez! Saturday, Nov 15 2008

Hello and Thank you to all of those who’ve offered their help and support along the way! We’ve opened our doors and are serving up some quality food, cocktails and coming soon, live music (closed Tuesdays for the near term). Come in every day from 11:30 till ’round midnight, between 11:30 am and 3 pm you’ll find $1 short Martinis, a knowing nod to Commander’s Palace, the New Orleans legend (with a main course or dozen oyster purchase, limit three) . An updated menu is available online and we’ll be posting more events as things come about. Also, come in and enjoy our ever growing selection of Absinthe (the real deal!) including a delightfully complex and herbal offering from Portland’s own House Spirits!

A few choices for Absinthe…um… um….yeah, they’re all delicious!

YES! Superb! Always fresh and delicious and the best prices you’ll find in town because we sell a lot of them and don’t mark it up for the superfluous accouterments, we like ‘em real fresh and unadulterated! See you at the oyster bar soon!

The good news is we’re getting closer to opening! The bad news is we’re not quite there yet but we have some more pictures of the build. Enjoy!

Mud Bugs! Wednesday, Oct 8 2008

We had a little party menu tasting the other night with a few friends and family. You can get a good idea of some of the offerings from the restaurant from this picture.

A Painting Party Tuesday, Sep 30 2008

A few of us got together to do some painting in the space. It’s a big wall but many hands make quick work!

Back Bar Tuesday, Sep 23 2008

Garth Klippert from G. Steel Design Build LLC is building our back bar, you can check out a fancy 3-D illustration at his blog page… http://gsdb.blogspot.com/

It’s being build as you read. Nice work so far Garth!

9-23-2008 Update Tuesday, Sep 23 2008

Still moving ahead, it’s looking better but still feels a long way off! Here are a few more pictures, and I’ll be putting up some more soon.

Phase II Wednesday, Sep 3 2008

Here we go with the walls. Also we’ve started building the back bar, see the lovely illustration below, it will look a bit different I’m sure, but you get the idea.

Above we have another view of the bar as one of the electricians goes to work on running wire, and it looks like the OLCC might finally be moving ahead on the Liquor license application we turned in on May 28th, don’t try to move anything through that office quickly.

Back Fill Saturday, Aug 30 2008

OK, so we’re on the way, we passed inspection for the plumbing and filled the trenches. The electricians are working away right now running all the power. Here’s a few more pictures.
